Clinical Informatics Analyst II

[ Overview ]

Works with clinical end users to analyze and document current state processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and mapping future state process flows while ensuring outcomes are measurable and met. 

Develops, tests, implements and maintains application software. Develops test cases and coordinates the testing process from unit testing to user acceptance testing.  Identifies and troubleshoots software problems.

 

Candidate must have working knowledge/experience in the following:

  • Clinical/Nursing Informatics Hospital Experience preferred
  • Soarian Clinicals Experience preferred.
  • Project Management experience preferred with experience with the formal testing process and test case development.
  • Medication Management experience a plus.(medication order build, medication reconciliation process)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to prioritize work and work independently.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in compiling and interpreting end user and organizational business needs.
  • Strong analytical skills to be able to problem solve, project plan, and troubleshoot.
  • Must be able to manage clinical information.
  • Analyzes clinical software to ensure software meets users needs.
  • Follows proper workflow for any program changes or enhancements.
  • Documents software changes.
  • Acts as application and programming specialist.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
[ Responsibilities ]
  • Analyze and document current state clinical practices and recommend clinical workflow process improvements
  • Research and troubleshoot application and user problems for multiple clinical departments.
  • Coordinate the integration of technology, business and clinical process across the healthcare continuum.
  • Determine the impact of change including both upstream and downstream systems and processes.
  • Resolve problems to the user’s satisfaction in a timely manner.
  • Plan and lead projects from initiation through closing, coordinating a formal testing effort.
  • Demonstrate thoroughness, monitors own work, and mentors others to ensure a quality product.
  • Contribute to the optimization and adoption of clinical systems by providing training and education to Users. 
  • Clearly and accurately documents all system/interface enhancements following departmental procedures and maintaining version control.

  • Demonstrate ability to set priorities and make decisions necessary to support project requirements.
  • Manage multiple priorities and meeting timelines.
[ Qualifications ]

Education:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or Clinical Field or equivalent hospital related job experience required.

 

Work Experience:

  • Experience working with clinical users to develop requirements with a focus on the nursing process preferred.
  • Minimum two years computer systems and/or clinical experience in a hospital environment with proven ability to solve problems.
