The Director of Public Relations & Communications drives organizational communications planning, audience engagement and understanding, and serves as expert providing communications leadership, counsel, and advice to internal clients.
In this key leadership position, you will demonstrate your strong leadership track record using creative, organizational, management, and written communications skills in designing proactive approaches to public relations initiatives to tell the CentraState story via traditional and digital media outlets.
The Director of Public Relations & Communications is responsible for the dynamic direction, development, and execution of strategic communications initiatives consistently articulating and effectively promoting CentraState’s mission and vision. This position works with the integrated marketing team to assure alignment of strategy.
Serving as the System’s chief spokesperson and public information officer, you will lead communications efforts to both internal and external audiences on major organizational issues and announcements, including crisis and reputation management issues, while building and maintaining positive relationships with all media outlets.
In this role you will work closely with executives, Human Resources and workforce development professionals to develop programs, initiatives and communications that drive engagement and contribute to a positive work environment.
Represents the System to various community organizations and directs and oversees special events.
Leads, supervises, and mentors direct reports and directs the work of external freelance writers, graphic designers, photographers, and others to develop promotional campaigns and events.
Conceptualizes and develops a wide variety of written materials, including news releases, statements, speeches and oversees production of publications including annual reports, community magazines and team member communications.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field, master’s preferred.
Work Experience:
Minimum ten years of experience in public, media relations, communications, or journalism, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated supervisory and project management skills.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, analytical and writing skills
Possess a thorough understanding of digital marketing communications, including web, social media, SEO, SEM and analytics
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
