CentraState Medical Center is seeking a Lead Security Officer to provides security to the hospital, employees, equipment, supplies and drugs. Controls traffic around, inside and outside of the hospital with the general welfare and safety of patients and employees being the primary goal. Schedules and coordinates hospital courier services.
- Acts as liaison during patient management situations.
- Acts as Security representative until Security department head is on site.
- Accountable for ensuring the next shift is adequately staffed.
- Accountable for ensuring the next shift is adequately staffed.
- Checks e-mail daily prior to 1st post assignment.
- Demonstrates knowledge and follows all Security policies, procedures and paperwork.
- Discusses and distributes confidential information only as specifically instructed to do so by director, manager, or other CentraState management staff, i.e. nursing supervisor.
- Assists with orientation and training of new security staff.
- Ensures all security posts and watches are covered.
- Professionally communicates with departmental managers and supervisors.
- Provides work direction and support to security officers.
- Prioritizes and arranges special pickups and deliveries.
- Notifies Security management when necessary.
- Monitors and reports staff performance.
- Required to report 15 minutes prior to assigned shift for debriefing.
- Works as valet and courier when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years’ experience as a security officer in an industrial or institutional area preferred
- Valid NJ driver’s license
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification required. Renewal certifications will be completed every 2 years
- Must complete assigned education provided by Crisis Prevention Institute
- Must obtain supervisory level IAHSS certification within 1 year of date of hire
- Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent organizational skills. Strong customer service skills
