Network Administrator

[ Overview ]

Configures, implements and coordinates the installation and support of Centrastate Healthcare Systems network, and all computer hardware and software.

[ Responsibilities ]
  • Responds to users requests in a timely manner.
  • Investigates hardware and software problems and recommends the appropriate action.
  • Performs network analysis.
  • Installs network hardware, software and peripherals.
  • Investigates network and computer problems and performs the appropriate actions.
  • Performs network administrator responsibilities including I/O errors, downtime, upgrades, backups, recovery procedures and security.
  • Manages system networks to provide optimal operating performance.
  • Completes necessary procedures and repairs to ensure that PC’s are continually maintained in a functional mode and are accessible to users.
  • Assures that all software and firmware for all networking equipment, and virus definition files are always at the latest revision.
  • Investigates hardware and software problems and takes the appropriate action for resolution.
[ Qualifications ]

Education:

Bachelor’s Computer Science Required Or

Bachelor’s Management Information Systems Required And

Additional Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems, or business field and five years applicable experience, or an equivalent combination of education / experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

Novell certification Required Or

Microsoft certification Required

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Must have a good understanding of AS400 connectivity, and a working knowledge of computer and Internet applications. Must have the ability to run diagnostic programs and tests, isolate hardware, software and or communications difficulties in cooperation with software vendor and or hardware manufacturer, and to resolve a variety of technical difficulties. Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.
