Provides general clerical assistance as requested. Supports OR billing process and/or schedules surgical cases as necessary.
- Accurately files documents in department as they relate to position responsibilities.
- Maintains records in orderly, organized style.
- Enters patient information into the computer database.
- Follows instructions as directed and completes tasks in a timely manner.
- Accurately processes all computer data (enters and retrieves data, compiles appropriate data for reports).
- Upgrades computer data as requested.
- Verifies and ties data as required.
- Communicates necessary information to Manager or Supervisor as it relates to work flow concerns or delays.
- Prioritizes work responsibilities as needed.
- Ensures work output is neat, orderly, complete and presented on time.
- Delivers reports, supplies or other items to the requested location in a timely manner.
- Proofreads and self edits work products before presenting them as complete.
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Work Experience:
1 Year Clerical Experience Preferred
1 Year Medical Clerical Experience Preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Experience with medical terminology preferred. Ability to use standard office machines including computers, typewriters, copiers, multi-line phones and facsimile machines. Computer experience including word processing preferred. Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.
