Individual will be responsible for meeting, greeting and assisting patients, scheduling patient appointments, answering phones in a professional and courteous manner, phlebotomy, administering vaccines, performing EKG’s, PFT’s, and Audiograms, obtaining vital signs, documenting patient medical information and assisting providers.
- Correctly performs all scheduled and assigned tasks while continually observing patient needs.
- Participates in preparation and intervention of diagnostic or therapeutic patient care.
- Provides appropriate interventions as directed by nurse.
- Reports and documents patient condition and patient care outcomes to nurse or physician.
- Assures exam, treatment and utility rooms are clean, in order, appropriately stocked and ready for use.
- Prepares instruments to send to central services for disinfecting or sterilization; cleans wheelchairs and exam tables as needed.
- Pulls and prepares patient records prior to appointments; accurately files records.
- Assists to schedule patients in clinical computer system as needed
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Work Experience:
1 year medical office experience is required
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Professional and courteous telephone skills
Strong data entry skills; Ability to type a minimum of 50 wpm
Knowledge of medical terminology
Working Conditions:
Works in an outpatient clinical environment with frequent exposure to sick patients.
